Downy Serviceberry $15 or $20

Downy Serviceberry is a native to the Eastern United States and is one of my favorite berries.  It flowers in early spring before the leaves bud out and it has a berry that tastes like blueberry with a dot of honey on top.  The fruit ripens in June and that is where it gets one of its nicknames “Juneberry”.  This small tree or large shrub has many nicknames including; Common Serviceberry, Downy Serviceberry, Shadbush, Juneberry, Junebush, Shadblow, and Sarvis.

Soil / Climate: Downy Serviceberry is native to Eastern North America and adaptable to most soil types. Autumn colors are deep orange to red.  Flowers are white with 2″ to 4″ long petals, and bloom in dense groups in early spring for a short time.  Fruit is dark purple, 1/3 inch in diameter, and is often used in pies, jellies, wines and cider.

1G pots are $15 and 2G pots are $20.
