Currently Sold Out. Catnip Nepeta cataria is a herbaceous perennial in the mint family that cats love and is used in teas by humans. It has a clumping tendency like lemon balm and has the typical square stems like most mint. Catnip has a grassy or woodsy taste that is even more pronounced with lemon and it said to have a slight numbing effect on the tongue.
Catnip is best harvested while in bloom, which is from late spring until early fall.
Note that while catnip is known as a plant that cats love, the oil in the plant is actually toxic to cats. Please use caution and research this more for your cat.
