They prefer to be placed into well drained soils that get a lot of water on a regular basis. They also serve as a great source of food for wildlife and produce fan shaped leaves with very vibrant fall colors.

Ginkgo trees are dioecious, meaning that there are male trees and female trees and you must have at least one of each to produce viable seeds. Don’t eat raw or roasted ginkgo seeds, which can be poisonous.
