Chippewa Blueberry

Chippewa Blueberry

We no longer carry this variety. Chippewa blueberry is a Highbush/Lowbush type cultivar. Height of bush will be three feet at maturity. Ripening is early in the July time frame. Yield is approximately 3-7 pounds per plant. Fruit size is medium to large being about 90 berries per cup.

Flavor of the fruit is very sweet with little acid and the quality of the fruit is excellent. Ornamental use is good if the choice in the landscape requires a four foot upright bush.

The cultivar is self-fruitful, so one accent plant in a landscape will have full yields. Hardiness is one of the main attributes for the Chippewa. It will survive and produce fruit in colder regions where temperatures can reach minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Hardiness Zones 7b-3a.
