Todd McCree is Appointed President of Great Escape Farms
Today Great Escape Farms announced that Todd McCree is Appointed President of Great Escape Farms in charge of farm and Internet operations. Todd brings an extensive background in computer networks and the Internet along with farm operations and plant propagation. These combined skills will make Great Escape Farms a success on the farm as well as online. Todd will act as the Editor of the blog posts and web master of the company’s web sites. He will also be the head of operations of the farm and nursery.
Recently Todd has worked at a farm where he put in several thousand feet of swales and planted into them. He also received a great deal of hands on knowledge with day-to-day farm activities with the animals. The animals included pigs, cows, horses, ducks, rabbits, chickens, and barn cats.
Todd has been doing plant propagation on both hardwood and softwood cuttings since 2014. This spring he put in a propagation bed with an intermittent mist system.
Todd grew up in Pasadena, MD where he graduated from Chesapeake High School. He then joined the Air Force for a four-year enlistment, followed by several years at the University of Maryland where he received a BS in Computer Information Science. He then went on to get a job as a Network Systems Engineer. When not attending school or working as an engineer, Todd gardened, worked part time at a nursery, and took several permaculture and PDC courses.
Great Escape Farms is the parent company of Great Escape Nursery and Great Escape Consulting. Great Escape Farms runs a web site with daily blog posts about permaculture gardens, unique edible plants, and homesteading.
