Heritage Raspberry for Sale $15

Heritage Raspberry for Sale

Heritage raspberry is a very productive, everbearing raspberry variety.  Everbearing means that the plants fruit once in the early summer and then again in the late summer into the fall.  These raspberries grow in a rounded shape and do not need to be trellised.

Plant Information

Heritage grows in a rounded shape and does not need to be trellised.

They have high yields, especially in the fall.  The fruit is medium size, good firmness, and has a nice dark red color.  This is a great variety for freezing, canning, jam, cooking with or just eating right out of hand.

Plant Facts for Heritage Raspberry

Heritage raspberries were introduced in 1969 by Cornell University. They are one of the most widely grown raspberry cultivars in the world and have been used as a parent in the breeding of at least five other commercial cultivars.  This is in part because Heritage is resistant or tolerant to most if not all major raspberry diseases.

My Experience with Heritage Raspberry

We have been growing this cultivar for over ten years.  I started them out in a pot and eventually transplanted some of the suckers into another pot as well as the ground.  Currently we have them growing in our sandy soil in Maryland and in our clay soil in West Virginia, and the plants are doing great at both locations.  The plants sold here are from suckers that come up each spring.  Because I only take a few of the suckers each year, the quantity sold is limited each year.
